Junkyard Dog (Laura Veirs)

from by West Coast Chalice

"Junkyard Dog" was an outtake from Laura Veirs's album The Triumphs and Travails of Orphan Mae" aka The Red Record. When I first heard this "Junkyard Dog" I remember exclaiming to myself "Soundgarden should cover this song!" That moment was the key that turned the lock inside my brain to begin thinking about covering women's songs in a grunge fashion - though it came out a lot more Temple of the Dog...

As if you didn't know, I've been recording and performing with Laura Veirs for 10+ years. Her music and songwriting has been a great influence for me.
