about

Vancouver B.C.'s Mecca Normal is one of the steadfast forces of nature in the Northwest. "This Machine" I plucked from my vinyl of Dovetail, released on K in 1992 (KLP #14!). Jean Smith's cutting, raw voice and David Lester's swirling, steady rhythm guitar are the only elements to Mecca Normal, and for that boiled down feeling it's a deep experience seeing them perform.

about

Karl Blau Anacortes, Washington

In search of the sounds of joy and expressions that feel true to life. Like happiness with sadness. More and more songs about love and life and death. Experiments with sound, abundance, other kinds of dance, enthusiasm, vocals warming up.
